The commercial corridor of the Extra Schengen departure concourse is situated at the second level of the South Wing Expansion of Athens International Airport, in the departure’s concourse. It increases the terminal’s commercial space by an additional 2400sqm and 11 new retail units, adding approx. 190m of passageway from the passport control area to the departure gates. The design aims to an exclusive and clean-cut environment with a distinct visual identity, in support of the branding of the high street boutique concept for the area. It uses tailor-made illuminated elements as cladding material for a curved-ribbon façade, constructed by custom sectioned aluminium profiles, led panels, and lighting membrane. Blending the individual identities of the various retailers under a strong visual concept, it enhances the quality and value of the concession concourse of airport retails, resulting to radiant animated environment that delivers the promise of a fulfilling travelling/shopping experience.
